As the Spirit of God grants me understanding, I accurately consider that the knowledge of my inheritance is embedded in deep and Divine mysteries coded in a promise. By this I mean that the promises are not man's opinion. They are God's perfect intention concerning the saints in Christ. So the ideal of the Christian life is to continually decode the promise in order to sustain a growing possession of inheritance by God's grace. More below!
Reference: Galatians 3:18 New International Version (NIV)
"For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in His grace gave it to Abraham through a promise."
Our inheritance embraces and responds to "one-of-a-kind" character and that character is GRACE. And that grace is also the full stream of our true identity in Christ. Hence I want to accentuate this grace from the standpoint of solemn conviction based on its relevance in Christendom because the latter part of our referenced Scripture says "but God in His grace gave it to Abraham through a promise."
Notice that the word "But" changed everything. What is "but"? It is a coordinating conjunction used to connect ideas that contrast. So God Himself is telling you that He derives so much pleasure in His grace, that He gave the inheritance to Abraham in that frame of mind through a promise. Indeed, this should hold our interest and attention markedly.
Grace! This reminds me of a Scripture that says, "...how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!" (Romans 5:17 NIV). Beloved, can you hold more of God's grace than you could five years ago? Is there any more proclivity in your conscious mind for more of God's grace today than there was within you long, long ago? If you don't have more of His grace, it is not because you cannot contain more; it is because you have neglected His Word. But if you have been receiving more of His grace than before, it is because you have desired more of it. Why am I emphasizing the need for amassing abundance of grace? It is the embodying power of divine influence that will give you the "inheritance" among all those who are sanctified.
To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression reads, "And now I entrust you to God and the message of His GRACE that is able to build you up and give you an INHERITANCE with all those He has set apart for Himself" (Acts 20:32 NLT). Got it? The Word of His grace is essentially significant in building you up and in conditioning your spirit to claim your inheritance in the Kingdom of light. And it's quite amazing that God, in His utmost level of munificence, was and is so pleased to give His grace in abundance to mankind - that is, to men of all ages, race, background and qualities.
Therefore I encourage you to go for the Word and it will bestow more grace upon your life, which will in turn, grant you the zestful ability and high-powered propensity to possess your inheritance in Christ Jesus. Stay tuned for part 7. Shalom!
The inspiration of the Almighty grants me the advantage because I live with daily access to His generous abundance of grace, sourced from an endless knowledge of His gracious Word and eternal glory. Praise God!
