In the world we live, you may not always choose the things you encounter, or what you come across. We all get to face challenges, great encounters and diverse experiences, as each day passes by, but what makes the difference is mainly rooted in how we react to our experiences, with our words. More below!
Reference: Proverbs 18:21 Good News Translation (GNT)
"What you say can preserve life or destroy it; so you must accept the consequences of your words."
What does this versified reference mean for all of us? It is indicative of the great relevance and influential power of spoken words. It's easy to completely conclude that your life is defined by what happens around you or to you. But the GOSPEL truth is that your life is defined by the words you declare about yourself, knowingly and unknowingly.
A lot of people already have the wrong perspective about their earthly existence. How? Yes, they may know that God had planned their existence before the world began, and in that planning, there is a purpose for their lives, but they can exhibit the wrong attitude of deducing that every detail of their lives is pre-planned, and for that reason, they have little or zero part to play in actualizing their purpose. Yes, God has a plan and a purpose for your life, but it's not automatic. You can identify with the plan and rightly establish His purpose for your life on earth - with the very words you utter.
Interestingly, God will never force you to embrace the plan He has for you, but He gives you the opportunity to embrace it. Just as He gives you the choice to accept and act on His word, He equally gives you the opportunity to follow or ignore the purpose for which you were created as you discover it in His will. To instantiate this verity, John 3:16 stated that God demonstrated His love for the world by giving His only begotten Son. On what terms and condition? "That whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." What does this really imply?
If you believe in Jesus, you will have eternal life; if you don't, you won't. So it's your choice, not God's choice; He has made the provision available to all and sundry. And it gets even more interesting: To accept Him, you must confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that He was raised from death by the executive power of God's might. So what you say counts, and its that serious because it is your own spoken words that established His Lordship over your life.
A person can miss God's perfect plan for their life as a result of negative speechifications, because whether or not you believe it, your life goes in the direction of your words. When you encounter any situation, or when something happens in your life, understand this: what happens to you is not nearly as important as how you respond to the situation with the right words. Some people are strongly built up through adverse situations - on account of radiating and declaring positively-inspired utterances. Other people are broken by them, for the same reason - the words they confess. To instantiate this verity, the book of Matthew reveals about Jesus calming the storm with words. It literally reads:
"Then He got into the boat and His disciples followed Him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!" Then He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm" (Matthew 8:23-26 NIV).
What a faith-filled decree! For the disciples, their words were so weak and faithless, because they couldn't sustain the right focus. This is the reason why "for some people" a bad experience influences their worded responses in a negative way because they are focused on it. But for those who know the importance of words, a bad experience or challenging situation will surely emerge as their stepping stone to greater picture - depictive of grand reality. Why? Because they are purposefully unyielding and resolute in vocalising the right words about themselves and their situations - while going through their unpleasant experiences.
If you summon two people with differing belief systems [one with a negatively-programmed thought pattern, and another with a positively-inspired mentality], and put them in the same adverse situation, the latter is likely to succeed while the former will succumb to despair or negative forces. Why so? It is mainly because of the words that come out of their mouths, and the choices they make, which in turn, influence their outcomes. Words are so powerful because they have creative or destructive powers. So you can consciously and possibly influence your life's circumstances with words, and also accelerate a positive change in the end result of any situation - with words.
Even when an unfavourable situation or circumstance persists, and you keep speaking faith-inspired words, as well as "remain unperturbed," the right and favourable fortune is inevitable, meaning that enduring goodness will never elude you over time. Shalom!

Guided Prayer:
Gracious Father, I'm grateful for enlightening me through your Word to know that the tongue has an incredible power. I'm inspired the more to speak words of life, success, victory, abundance, healing and health - over my life - today and always. I'm full of the Word because the life of the Word is unco active in my inner man. To that effect, your Word in me jumps off the tablet of my heart and spirit through my rightful declarations, to establish godly results in my life; thus my life is the manifestation of the Word. All of nature favourably responds to my words, because the power of God fertilizes it with creative ability - empowering me to develop and invent great ideas, and dynamic ability - to exert positive changes. Thank you Lord, for your Word that endures forever in Jesus' Name, Amen!
