Having the right foundation is designed to empower the saints to serve and approach God with confidence and to live out their faith walk in victory and true success. More below!
Reference: 1st Corinthians 3:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
"By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ."
1st Corinthians 12:5 reads, "There are different ministries, but the same Lord" (MSB). In other words, Apostle Paul gave the one and only specification for building and rendering service - which is the same lord (Christ), the only true foundation, for no one is empowered to lay an alternative foundation other than the good foundation that exists, which is Jesus Christ!
Since any building structure will only ever be as good as the foundation it is built on, getting the foundation of anything we build this year right "the first time" is absolutely focal and pivotal to sustaining successful outcomes. Therefore, let every builder do his work carefully, according to God's standard, which mainly implies employing or operating with usefulness of the right doctrine that portrays a Christian living that is consistent with God's principles.
Beloved, it is one of the duties of the leaders of God's people in any ministry to instruct and equip men with gospel truths, and to that effect, apostle Paul stated in 1st Corinthians 3:9 that we are co-workers with God and the saints are God's cultivated garden, the house He is building (AMP), meaning that Paul and his fellow-laborers endeavoured to manifest true wisdom in the method in which they built and instructed the saints, signalling the right pathway and a practical spiritual insight that enabled the saints to lead a lifestyle pleasing to God.
Since the wisdom of building on the right foundation is essential for navigating trials and living out one's faith effectively, it is of paramount importance to intentionally choose the right building materials. Why so? The quality of materials used by anyone building on this foundation will soon be made apparent, whether it has been built with gold, silver, and costly stones, or wood, hay, and straw. Their work will soon become evident, for the Day will make it clear, because it will be revealed by blazing fire! And the fire will test and prove the workmanship of each builder. If a work stands the test of fire, the builder will be rewarded. If a work is consumed by the fire, he will suffer great loss (1st Corinthians 3:12-15 ESV). Shalom!
My heart is pure and right before God, an attitudinal force within me that conveys a true sense of earnestness and rectitude, and reflects a firm posture of my spiritual identity and undaunting faith in building on the right and solid foundation, namely Christ. Hallelujah!
