THE PROOF OF GOD'S POWER TO HELP - PART 2

MONDAY 22 AUGUST 2022

Our devotion to God in terms of cultivating a steadfast commitment and submission to fulfilling His good pleasure, must be intentionally hosted in our Christian lives, from the standpoint of a rich sense of dedication to our daily pursuit of His will and purpose for our lives. In doing so, we find out that we are continually positioned to receive the benefits of His right hand and thus, are enriched with the pleasures of spiritual and material blessings.

Reference: Psalm 63:8 New King James Version (NKJV) "My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me."

Beloved, can we really say like David:

"My soul follows hard after God, and for this reason, His right hand upholds me"? Can this really be proven to be true in our lives?

Always bear in mind that there is always a reward for constantly developing a "desiring" hunger for God from your innermost being. As we become more spiritually awake to this insight, God becomes more committed to backing us up with His right hand. Therefore we must continually examine ourselves to ensure that we are on track in relation to walking closely or intimately with God. By this, I mean that we should cultivate the attitude of checking our values and weighing our desires to evaluate or carefully assess if they still show unyielding reverence to God and whether we hold Him in very high esteem more than anyone or anything else. When we do so, we can always dictate any deficiency in our yearning desire for God, especially the deviating cravings that become unhealthy to host and bring to bear, the dimensions of God's right hand. By being spiritually minded and alert, we can curb the unhealthy yearnings and focus on cultivating healthier spiritual longings for God.

As a child of God, never depart from your established course of sustaining an intimate relationship with God persistently. Let it sink in, be seen and be known by all men that you are an ardent and passionate God-pleaser. In fact, as a Christian, if you haven't examined your desires lately, take a deep breath and write them down - in order of priority. That way, you can confirm or ascertain whether your longing for God is of paramount importance among the desires you listed. You can become an avid lover of God by clinging to the counsel of His Word and praying without ceasing. Psalm 91:1 reads, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" (NKJV). "He who dwells" suggests a habitual engagement with the Lord, not an irregular or occasional attempt. Following hard after God lies at the very heart of our Christian faith and it is essentially needful in our relationship with others because a Christian who loves God should always act like it amid the world surrounding his existence. Unceasingly, his lifestyle should make it obvious that he is all about pleasing God and doing His biddings.

Beloved, there is no such thing as developing too much desire for God. If you've ever heard this from someone, it is a lie fabricated from the pit of hell and I'll tell what to do with it. Sweep such an opinion or idea aside and reinforce your allegiance and commitment to God beyond any doubt or hindering medium. Our confidence as Christians in this present world lies in a burning desire and earnest longing for more of God, otherwise, we will resort to weak faith, especially if we habitually fail to exercise or demonstrate the consciousness of an intimate relationship with God in our daily lives. Therefore bear in mind that the aim of today's topic is to inspire or stir up within your inner man, an intense addiction and a serious-minded appetite for the depth of God, which will in turn, afford you a deep satisfaction derived from surrendering your will to His supreme authority. Stay tuned for more in part 3. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - 1 Chronicles 16:11; Psalm 14:2; Acts 17:24-27; Psalm 40:16; Psalm 119:2-3.

Exuberant Declaration: I acknowledge today that God has been my help and my fortress. Indeed, silver and gold are not equal to the immensity of eternal pleasures which is found at His right. Persistently, I devote my heart and soul to seeking the Lord as the only true God. Hence, my soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness because of the manifold expression of His faithfulness in my life. Hallelujah!
