ROYAL HEADSHIP - PART 8

King Belshazzar's mother said to him: There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. In the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him, and King Nebuchadnezzar, your father—your father the king—made him chief of the magicians, enchanters, Chaldeans, and astrologers...

When Daniel was sent for, King Belshazzar said to him: I have heard that you have the spirit of the gods within you and that you are filled with insight, understanding, and wisdom (See Daniel 5:11-14).

What did they mean when they said that the spirit of the gods was in Daniel? It was the Spirit of God at work in Daniel! For this reason, Daniel functioned like a god. More below!

"Then He picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah. Now God has us where He wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus."

In John 10:34-36, Jesus replied the Jews saying, "Isn't it written in your Law, I have said, you are gods? Scripture calls those to whom God's word came gods, and scripture can't be abolished. So how can you say that the one whom the Father has made holy and sent into the world insults God because He said, "I am God's Son"? (CEB). Beloved, if you are born again, you are a god. And as the gods, we have the life-giving Spirit at work in us, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made us free from the law of sin and death.

If you have the Spirit of God active in you, it makes you more than a mere mortal, meaning that you can function as a god. To that effect, Romans 8:11 reads, "And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you" (NIV).

Simply put, it is the Spirit of God that gives life to your mortal bodies when you receive the Lord Christ Jesus as Saviour and Lord. And that life is eternal life, which has spread to all parts of your mortal body through your bloodstream, positioning you to function like god. To that effect, in a concluding affirmation, Johannine literature from 1st John 5:13 reads, "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life" (NIV).

Eternal life gives you the right to live a righteous life and the ability to function as a god on earth - in conformity with the eternal laws. It's a life beyond the dealings of mere mortals; its the quality life of eternal influence and loving relationship to God in spirit, soul and body. It's an exceptional life enriched with God's abounding grace and the beauty of progressive revelation of the Godhead. Its a life that changes us from glory to glory. It's a life that enables us to be empowered by grace, and grants us the empirical knowledge of God's nature in Christ Jesus. Stay tuned for part 9. Shalom!

Thank you Father for abundance of your grace, bountiful measure of your love, the gift of righteousness, the blessings of eternal life and the enabling influence of your Spirit which you have bestowed and showered upon me.
