OPEN DOORS - PART 1

MONDAY 26 FEBRUARY 2024

I'm introducing a new topic known as "Open doors" inspired by the Lord Jesus Christ. And I thank God that we have access to this truth, not just the Church in Philadelphia, and also because John was not partly inspired, but fully informed. If what John wrote was really a revelation from Christ, then it means that he was completely and heavily taken over by the Spirit, which gave birth to his advanced period of inspiration, during his exile on the island of Patmos. More below!

Reference: Revelation 3:8 New Living Translation (NLT)

"I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me."

This above reference was written to the Church in Philadelphia. The fuller expression reads:

These are the words of Him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What He opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. (Revelation 3:7-8 NIV).

These words are not the personal opinion of men, but the very words of Christ Jesus, my Lord, who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. He is the Eternal Lord, the caretaker of David's royal household. As a result, John was greatly inspired to write down what was revealed. There are open possibilities which no man can shut, and these possibilities have been opened by the key of David this season and beyond. Why key of David?

Firstly, I was divinely informed that the key of David is used to show how close the relationship between God and the man He used and cherished was. Remember that God acknowledged King David as a man after His own heart, and He pledged to him that the dynasty of his Kingdom would continue. The Bible mentioned in 2nd Samuel chapter seven, saying: "But that night the word of the Lord came to Nathan."

God's Word was fully on David's matter, and so, He spoke through Nathan's mouth as though it was His mouth. Before I continue, I personally want to add this: There are not too many writings of the prophets where the manifestation of God was determined through keys, and so, this very key of David is clearly outstanding because Nathan gave David a complete and accurate account of everything he heard and saw in the vision.

What is the real meaning of Key of David? Nathan explained to David, the revelation from God saying: But My lovingkindness and mercy will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. Your house (royal dynasty) and your kingdom will endure forever before Me; your throne will be established forever. Nathan spoke to David in accordance with all these words and all of this vision. Afterwards, David prayed in this manner:

Then King David went in and sat [in prayer] before the Lord, and said, "Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house (family), that You have brought me this far? Yet this was very insignificant in Your eyes, O Lord God, for You have spoken also of Your servant's house (royal dynasty) in the distant future...Therefore now, may it please You to bless the house (royal dynasty) of Your servant, so that it may continue forever before You; for You, O Lord God, have spoken it, and with Your blessing may the house of Your servant be blessed forever" (For full report, Read 2 Samuel 7:15-29 AMP).

An acceptance of this prophetic truth is entirely up to us; however it provides us with double strength and unfussy motivation to walk through an open door and access divine possibilities therein, with full assurance. Why did I mention double strength specifically? The church in Philadelphia had little strength, yet they obeyed the Word and did not deny Christ, but we have gained a more gracious advantage - double strength sourced from abundance of grace. Hallelujah...Stay tuned for the comprehensive analysis in the successive parts of this topic. Shalom!
