NO WORD FROM GOD WILL EVER FAIL - PART 2

THURSDAY 05 SEPTEMBER 2024

"No word from God will ever fail" is a great topic that offers the right perspective about divine competence and accomplishments based on spoken Word of God, which provide a born again Christian with an assurance of certainty even in hopeless and darkest moments. It is also a divine notion or statement that provokes a profound cognizance of the unfailing character of God's Word, and it is geared towards boosting our utmost dependence on prophetic wisdom in relation to facing or approaching life's challenges and complexities. More below!

Reference: Luke 1:36-37 New International Version (NIV)

"Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail."

The book of Luke chapter one started with an introductory doorway to an orderly account of prophesies which were fulfilled at the disciples's epoch, and this book was prefaced by Luke the Evangelist, and addressed to his friend, Theophilus.

The introduction reads:

"Since [as is well known] many have undertaken to compile an orderly account of the things which have been fulfilled among us [by God], exactly as they were handed down to us by those [with personal experience] who from the beginning [of Christ's ministry] were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word [that is, of the teaching concerning salvation through faith in Christ], it seemed fitting for me as well, [and so I have decided] after having carefully searched out and investigated all the events accurately, from the very beginning, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus; so that you may know the exact truth about the things you have been taught [that is, the history and doctrine of the faith]" (Luke 1:1-4 AMP).

To bring this brief introductory theoretical perspective to your accurate understanding, when Evangelist Luke wrote the facts about the Lord Jesus, many people had already written about the things pertaining such narrative, which were the reports of eventualities that took place in that country, and it was especially written by some people who were present when those things happened. Since they saw everything that took place, they wrote and talked about it.

Now Luke the Evangelist continued by saying, "They are the people who wrote down the Good News for us, and having checked the facts about what really happened, I'm precisely aware of the things that happened from the beginning, and I am writing to make the facts clear to you, my important friend, Theophilus. Although people have already taught you about these things, through my own written account, you can make your assurance "doubly" sure on the basis of the fact that they are true.

Now what does it mean when Luke the Evangelist says, "I am writing to make the facts clear to you, my important friend Theophilus"? It equally implies that the orderly account was written with our "readership" ability in mind. So in general, the Gospel of Luke was a written account based on the reports of original eyewitnesses, that is, those who were there from the start to witness the fulfillment of prophecy. Like those other servants who recorded the messages, Luke the Evangelist presented to all of us in Christ, his carefully researched meticulous and fastidious account of the historical happenings, which now or presently extends to our beneficial knowledge. Got it?

The introductory aspect within the first chapter of the book of Luke also includes some established facts of a key issue - faced by Zachariah and his wife, Elizabeth, who were a good and righteous couple in God's sight, walking with integrity in the Lord's ways. So he stated the particular light of some background history of the events that occurred when Herod ruled Judea for the Roman Empire, which was also a time when Zachariah was serving as a priest in the temple in Jerusalem as his fathers did before him.

Zachariah was a member of the priestly division of Abijah (a grandson of Aaron who innovated temple practices), and his wife, Elizabeth, was of the priestly lineage of Aaron, Moses' brother. Yet they had this sad challenge, which was Elizabeth's infertility or barrenness. For this reason, they were childless, and the demeaning aspect of the challenge was that they were both quite old - well past normal years of childbearing. Stay tuned for part 3. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Genesis 25:21; Deuteronomy 7:14; Hebrews 11:1; James 1:17.

Exuberant Declaration:

I cannot help being so grateful and confident about the timeless truth that no word from God will ever fail, rain or shine. Praise God!
