CONSIDER THE LORD JESUS - PART 7

THURSDAY 14 NOVEMBER 2024

Considering the Lord Jesus Christ can present itself as the meeting point of varied association of divine ideas and godly wisdom in your mental faculty. When the mind of Christ has become an essential, ineffaceable and inseparable part of your cognizance, the perceptual power of your mindset will always consider the Lord. More below!

Reference: Hebrews 3:1 English Standard Version (ESV)

"Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession."

If indeed, you are fully convinced and persuaded that Christ lives in you, you will consider Him as a professing Christian. Notably, in the above versified reference, Jesus was considered as the apostle and high priest of our confession. Are you fully persuaded in terms of considering great and wondrous things about the Lord? How often do you ponder or cogitate about Him? What about His blood that speaks better things than the blood of Abel? (Hebrews 12:24 KJ21). What about the fulfilled promises and benefits that accompany our salvation as a result of His atoning sacrifice? What about the power of His resurrection that made us new creatures, having been called, justified, sanctified, adopted, and, at last, glorified?

What about considering the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge? Pauline epistolary expression numbered as Ephesians 3:17-19 reads, "Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God" (NLT). Did you notice the rendering: "And may you have the power to understand...how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is"? The power to understand Christ's love - is exerted as a function of mental consideration, although it is an extraordinary "love" that can never be fully explored by the human mind.

Petrine epistolary expression put the considered influence of the Lord Jesus in this way:

"Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with an inexpressible and glorious joy" (1st Peter 1:8 NIV).

How can you reason out or associate yourself with the love of Christ whom you've never met on earth? It implies that you've been considering Him through a deep, thoughtful understanding that goes beyond mere knowledge, with an encompassing ability of the Spirit to apply your considerations in practical situations. So the term "consider Jesus" is often associated with graceful excellence in one's utterances or terms of expression about the Lord, which is replete with highly-valued and greatly appreciated discernment of His essence - necessary for living a life pleasing to God.

When you consider Jesus - by means of spiritual illumination, you can make sound judgments and wise decisions that are integral to living according to His will. This truth is in direct reference to the dictionary definition of the word "consider" which is typically indicative of thinking carefully about (something), before making a decision.

Into the bargain, it is quite interesting to acknowledge that the ability to consider Jesus from the perspective of any level of spiritual understanding - is not the same as doxology or offering paean to God. Considering Jesus has to do with assessing His eternal worth, heavenly value or calibre of His mankind, by means of deep cogitation, and with regard to a particular light of His dimension, such as His nature, office and origin, thereby creating a form of written work expressing enthusiastic knowledge of your reflected comprehensiveness.

This means that "considering the Lord Jesus" emphasizes the role of the Holy Spirit in granting you the accurate insight needed to grasp any part of His mystery through faith-filled wordings, while doxology is all about partaking in a solemn procession or a form of praise and worship to God. Stay tuned for part 8. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - John 5:39; Romans 12:2; Colossians 3:1-3; Philippians 4:8.

Exuberant Declaration:

As the elect of God, I'm fully persuaded of better things about the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm fully persuaded that He loves me with an everlasting love. I'm fully persuaded that His love is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. I'm fully persuaded that I'm called and established by His grace. I'm fully certain and persuaded that God, who began the good work within me, will continue His work until it is definitively finalised on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Praise God!
