ACCEPTABLE TO GOD - PART 4

FRIDAY 11 OCTOBER 2024

The necessity of reflecting on what Peter suggested as the key to being "acceptable" to God is of paramount importance, because it is the essence of identifying with one's true identity before God. More below!

Reference: Acts 10:34-35 New Living Translation (NLT)

'So Peter opened his mouth and said: "Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to Him."'

Ponder this for a while: By divine strategic networking, God dropped a vision in Peter's stupor, and in his absence of response to external stimuli, he assessed an imagery of nonkosher food, forbidden in the dietary law of Hebrews Scripture, and interestingly, the imagery was significantly linked to the imminent or upcoming incident in his natural world, denoting that the visually descriptive encounter displayed in his trance was a figurative view of those men sent as Cornelius's delegation to visit him from Caesarea. Got it?

Remember that the voice in the trance already informed Peter saying, "If God calls something permissible and clean, you must not call it forbidden and dirty!" More so, the frequent recurrence of the imagery within the time frame of Peter's trance is quite significant (see Acts 10:15-16 NIV). In other words, Peter saw this vision three times, which implied that God wanted to plant a firm mental imagery in his heart and mind realm, which was to be considered as a generated source of lasting impact that would determine the value of the visitors on the way to Joppa - before Peter would connect to them. Got it?

So by divine informative networking, Peter's heart and cognitive faculty were already conditioned to receive the three visitors known as Cornelius's delegates, but this strategic connection was happening so fast that even while Peter's conceptual comprehension was still racing to decrypt the sensitive message embedded in the vision, the voice of the Holy Spirit interrupted his curious attention and broke through his "decoding" thought recognition as it was transmitting, thereby informing him in this manner:

Holy Spirit: The three men who are searching for you have been sent by Me. So get up! Go with them. Don't hesitate or argue.

Without wasting time, Peter rushed downstairs to meet the visitors, saying, "I'm the one you're seeking." Can you tell me why you've come?

The visitors responded, "Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man well spoken of by all the Jewish people, was divinely instructed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear what you have to say." So Peter invited them in and gave them lodging for the night (see Acts 10:19-23 NIV). Now Peter had met them, and he extended hospitality to them by granting them overnight lodging. However, they departed together the next morning, and some Christians believers from Joppa accompanied them out.

Again, let me remind you that we can all find that true fulfilment in the voice of the Spirit because it has in itself, the discerning resonance of articulated strategic networking, that aims to connect one to another, depending on any mission which is in accordance with the divine purpose - being radiated in God's mind. So when we activate God's voice - by constantly getting filled with the Spirit, His distinctive duty becomes a promising delight in our lives, and the "arm of flesh" ceases to interfere in the flow of revelatory system of divine guidance. Stay tuned for part 5. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - John 10-2-4; Luke 11:28; John 10:27; John 14:26.

Guided Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I worship you today for this reason: the divine power of assimilating the sound of your voice in my spirit and translating it into practical understanding and natural response is at work in me. With unspeakable joy, I consider it a profound honour to hear from you at will, which in turn, has a significant effect on how I perceive and carry on with my faith walk from glory to glory, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
