Once upon a time AT&T was the strongest brand name in telecom, and the rest of the world for that matter, but that was more than a decade ago. Comcast also has the strongest name in cable television in the US market. With such strength why are they now both reinventing their brand with the Rethink Possible from AT&T and Xfinity from Comcast?
One rule we all know is you don't mess with a brand unless you really need to. If it is successful you don't want to confuse the marketplace. So what is the problem? What are their challenges or opportunities? Will this succeed? And what does this mean for the companies and the brands moving forward?
First it is important to realize the telecom world has changed dramatically over the last decade. We still call it the telecom industry or the cable television industry, but those are old names that no longer really describe this is a new world that is developing.
The Green Dinosaur Pokemon story, in case you didn't know, isn't really a story at all. You'd be pardoned for thinking it was, with all the Pokemon goods for sale now. My son at the moment is absolutely mad for anything Pokemon Black and White, including Pokemon Plushies (those are Pokemon stuffed toys) and especially the Pokemon Black and White Game Cards (Holofoil cards being especially valuable). He definitely wants the Nintendo DS Pokemon Black and White game
Do you still remember the stories your grandma or mom used to narrate when you were a child. The very reason of telling a story is to communicate a specific message or moral. Remember how the person telling a story expresses the different characters and emotions by acting differently or changing the facial expressions or tones. We definitely used to enjoy that and get involved in the story and start picturising ourselves in place of some character in the story. We start pubfilm more and more in our mind as we get involved more into the story. That leads us to believe more and more in the fiction. The same concept applies to the films or movies. The people making the film are trying to express or let's say communicate a specific message to the audience. Of course the medium is rich and it becomes a bit easier than the grandma's process but the essence remains the same, to tell a story in the best possible way.
